INTEK performs certified testing on products and components to ensure their safety, quality, and compliance with key regulations.

INTEK’s testing laboratories represent one of Italy’s most advanced centers for the testing, certification, and conformity assessment of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and radio equipment. Operating since 1994, fully independent, and backed by international accreditations and recognitions (ACCREDIA 00855, UL TPTDP DA928, ACAE/LOVAG IK01, CBTL IECEE), INTEK’s laboratories provide reliable, traceable measurements that fully comply with the requirements of European directives and major technical standards.
INTEK operates as a qualified technical partner for industrial companies, manufacturers, distributors, and designers, ensuring precise and reproducible results, thanks to:
INTEK laboratories are a strategic asset for all sectors requiring reliable testing for the safety, durability, electromagnetic compatibility, and market conformity of their products.

INTEK laboratories constitute an integrated ecosystem of expertise, technologies, and advanced tools to support companies at every stage of the product development, qualification, and compliance process. Thanks to its unique combination of high-level metrology, advanced testing, normative support, and traceability, INTEK is the ideal technical partner to ensure safety, reliability, and access to international markets.

INTEK laboratories are organized into four technical macro-areas designed to cover the entire validation, qualification, and compliance cycle for electrical, electronic, mechanical, and radio products. Each area represents a specialized unit with dedicated expertise, instrumentation, and methodologies, yet all operate in an integrated manner to guide the customer from the development phase through to access to international markets.
Electrical and safety testing represent the historical core of INTEK’s business, now expanded to include high-power testing, regulatory compliance verification, and performance analysis of electrical and electronic devices. This area is central to achieving presumption of conformity with the LVD (2014/35/EU) and ATEX directives, and for accessing international markets.

Testing of equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, using a dedicated chamber and gas mixture management in accordance with EN/IEC 60079.

High-power laboratory up to 20 kA for validating switching and protection products.

This area encompasses all tests that simulate real or extreme environmental, mechanical, and climatic conditions. It includes climate chambers, vibration systems, salt spray test facilities, impact test facilities, dust test facilities, and equipment for testing plastic materials.

Verification of protection ratings per EN 60529 and dust chamber testing.

Cold, heat, thermal shock, hot and humid, cyclic humidity.

This area encompasses three interconnected technical domains: EMC, electromagnetic field measurements, and radio testing. It is a strategic sector for CE marking in accordance with the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU and the Radio Equipment Directive (RED) 2014/53/EU.

Anechoic and shielded chambers for testing from 9 kHz to 6 GHz.

Tests on SRD, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and combined devices, in accordance with EN 300 328, EN 301 489-x, and EN 303 446.

Testing in accordance with Directive 2004/104/EC and ISO standards (ISO 11452, ISO 7637).

In addition to testing activities, INTEK provides technical and normative support throughout the entire product compliance cycle.

Area | Objective | Type of tests | When to choose it | Typical outputs |
Electrical and Safety Tests | Validate safety and electrical requirements | ATEX, LVD, UL, short circuit | Electrical/electronic products | Test reports, compliance plans |
Environmental and Mechanical | Evaluate durability and reliability | Vibration, climatic, IP, dust, materials | Products exposed to harsh conditions | Reports with curves, cycles, stress |
Electromagnetic Compatibility and Radio | Ensuring compatibility and emissions | EMC, EMF, RED, automotive | Electronic or radio products | Test reports for CE/RED |
Normative Support | Managing CE and UL compliance | Standards, directives, QTP, audits | Companies without an in-house regulatory department | Regulatory checks, roadmaps |
It depends on the product’s technology, but generally the minimum combination includes: LVD testing (electrical safety), EMC testing (emission/immunity), and, if radio components are present, RED testing. INTEK performs all these tests and assists in defining the regulatory path.
Environmental testing identifies structural or functional issues related to temperature, vibration, humidity, corrosion, or dust in advance, reducing the risk of operational failures and recall costs.
EMC testing verifies the emissions and immunity of the device as a whole; radio testing, on the other hand, evaluates the proper use of the spectrum and compliance with specific standards for transmitters and receivers.
Yes. Thanks to its regulatory expertise, participation in CEI committees, and collaborations with international organizations, INTEK supports clients in identifying mandatory and optional standards and tests.
